Finding an NHS dentist doesn’t have to be a struggle. Here at Moonlight Dental Surgery in Slough we are keen to welcome new patients for both NHS and private dentistry. No matter which option you choose, you can rest assured of high-quality treatment and care from some of the most skilled professionals in the area.
An NHS dentist can provide a wide range of treatments, catering for all clinical needs – from standard dental check-ups to restorative work with bridges or dentures.
Treatment from an NHS dentist is based on a series of bands, depending on the level of treatment you need. At our Slough dental practice we are transparent about all costs, which is why we show the cost of both private and NHS treatment on our Fees page, so that you as a patient can make an informed choice about which is the best treatment route for you.
The NHS treatment bands for 2015/16 are:
Band 1: £18.80 – This includes dental examinations, diagnosis and advice, x-rays if necessary and a scale and polish from the dentist.
Band 2: £51.30 – This includes everything in Band 1, as well as additional treatment including fillings, tooth extractions and root canal treatment.
Band 3: £222.50 – This includes everything in Bands 1 and 2, as well as more complex restorative procedures such as crowns, bridges and dentures.
Many patients qualify for free treatment from an NHS dentist. Below are some of the common exemptions; if you think you may qualify for free treatment but don’t fall into these categories, contact our Slough reception team for further advice.
