Six Month Smiles combines the very best of traditional orthodontics with the latest modern technology.
It’s a great way to get straighter and healthier teeth and to benefit from having a beautiful and attractive smile. Traditional orthodontic treatment has been modified to provide a far more cosmetic solution. It’s perfect for anyone with a busy lifestyle and who has lots of social or business commitments, or who simply just wants to straighten their teeth without anyone really noticing.
This treatment is quite different from conventional fixed braces as the brackets used are completely clear and are combined with tooth coloured wires that are virtually invisible. Average treatment time is only around six months, so it’s perfect if you want to plan ahead for a special event. Even though there are a wide range of removable aligners on the market, the use of the fixed brackets and wires can often provide the most predictable and conservative results as tooth movements are more precise.
Six Months Smiles in Slough uses low forces to gently and comfortably move teeth into the correct alignment. Treatment is safe and hygienic, and it generally costs less than traditional braces or clear aligners.
These braces can correct lots of different orthodontic problems, but tend to focus on those that are more cosmetically oriented involving teeth that are visible when smiling or talking. It could be the ideal solution if some of your teeth are crooked or unevenly spaced and you’re not looking to make any major changes to the position of your teeth.
Most adults and older teens will be suitable for Six Months Smiles. Treatment is very straightforward and quick, as the braces are positioned using special patient tray kits that are made by the Six Month Smiles laboratory. You’ll need to visit Dr Jaswinder Gill for regular check-ups during treatment, but these appointments should be relatively short.
You will need a proper consultation to find out if Six Month Smiles could help you, but the good news is that this initial visit is completely free. Dr Gill will evaluate your bite, and will also examine the condition of your gums and your jaw. It’s important that you have good dental health before treatment begins, and that you do not have any signs of gum disease or tooth decay. We also take dental x-rays if necessary and clinical photographs which help Dr Gill design your treatment plan. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask any questions you might have about treatment, and you’ll receive a full written treatment plan detailing the objectives of wearing braces, as well as the cost.
Dentists have to be accredited to provide Six Month Smiles, but Dr Gill believes so strongly in this innovative treatment that he chose to become a Clinical Instructor, and now helps teach other dentists who wish to learn about these braces.
