What an NHS dentist can do for you
23rd February 2016
Many people think that finding an NHS dentist is difficult these days. At Moonlight Dental Surgery in Slough, we do not believe this should be the case, and are keen to stress the services and benefits an NHS practitioner can offer you.

The NHS dentists at our Slough practice are all highly qualified and experienced, with the same level of experience and dedication as some of the top practitioners in the dental industry. They provide a full range of NHS dentistry services to patients of all ages and take the time to impart even the most complex procedures in an easy-to-understand manner. Should you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, they are more than happy to answer them.
What treatment can I get from an NHS dentist?
Your NHS dentist at our Slough clinic can provide a full range of dental services, from check-ups to restorations such as crowns, bridges or dentures. Dental treatment on the NHS is delivered on the basis of clinical need, so cosmetic dental procedures are not usually available (although at Moonlight Dental Surgery we do offer a full range of cosmetic treatments on a private basis, with various payment plan options – talk to your dentist if you are interested in these treatments).
Hygiene services – a scale and polish or professional tooth clean – are also available on the NHS, when delivered by a dentist.
What about costs?
Treatment from an NHS dentist is priced in bands, depending on the scale of treatment required. In many cases treatment may be free – for those aged up to 19 and in full-time education, pregnant women and those with babies under the age of one, and people in receipt of certain benefits. Otherwise, costs vary from £18.80 to £222.50, depending on the extent of treatment.
