Here, we look at the treatments offered on the NHS, as well as those that are only available to private patients.
At Moonlight Dental Surgery in Slough we are keen to offer all patients any treatment they need or want. That may be care from an NHS dentist or may involve private treatments and specialised services at affordable rates. We also offer payment plans on many treatments, enabling patients to spread the cost of their care.
NHS dentists provide treatment based on clinical need. In addition to standard dental check-ups and x-rays as necessary to aid with diagnosis, under NHS care you can also have all necessary treatment from fillings to root canal treatment, a scale and polish from your dentist to a full-mouth restoration with dentures.
White fillings can be used on the front teeth on the NHS, while metal amalgam fillings will be used for the back teeth. More intensive restorations, including crowns to strengthen and rebuild worn or weakened teeth, and bridges or dentures to replace missing teeth, are also available on the NHS.
Treatment from an NHS dentist is based on bands, with details available on our Fees page. NHS treatment is free to children and many other patients are exempt from paying charges – again, see our Fees page or contact a member of the reception team here at our Slough practice.
Treatments available on the NHS are also provided to private patients. Private treatment may increase the range of materials available for a restoration – for example, white composite fillings for the back teeth – and also includes cosmetic dental treatments, including teeth whitening and aesthetic orthodontics.
