Visit an NHS dentist regularly to keep your mouth healthy
8th March 2016
An NHS dentist will help you to keep your teeth and gums in great condition, without breaking the bank. At Slough’s Moonlight Dental Surgery, we are proud to offer the services of some of the area’s leading dental professionals on the NHS.

We believe that access to a dentist should be available to everyone, no matter what their circumstances. If you are looking for an NHS dentist in Slough, get in touch with us today to book your first appointment.
Can I afford it?
At our Slough practice, we understand that many people are apprehensive that their dental treatment will cost more than they can afford, particularly if they haven’t visited a practice for some time.
In many circumstances (such as children up to the age of 18, full-time students aged 19 and under, and those in receipt of a range of benefits) treatment from an NHS dentist is free, whether you require a simple check-up or a full new set of dentures. Otherwise, NHS treatment is priced by band, which for 2016 range from £18.80 to £222.50, depending on the type and extent of treatment required.
Those NHS bands explained
Band 1: £18.80 – This covers your examination from an NHS dentist, diagnosis, and advice. X-rays, a scale and polish, and treatment planning are also included in this band as necessary.
Band 2: £51.30 – As well as including everything covered in Band 1, this includes additional treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment, and tooth extraction.
Band 3: £222.50 – This final band covers more complex restorative procedures, such as dentures, bridges, and crowns – as well as all treatments covered in Band 1 and 2.
Keep it regular
Regular visits to an NHS dentist are essential in maintaining good oral health, which in turn impacts on your general health. We welcome new patients of all ages for NHS treatment at our Slough clinic.
