These days, there are more options than just metal braces for patients who want straighter teeth. Slough Braces Centre offers treatment with Six Month Smiles – one of the most rapid and discreet tooth straightening systems on the market. As the name suggests, you can complete your treatment in as little as half a year.
Six Month Smiles are cosmetic braces, so not designed to correct major issues with the bite. However, the majority of adult patients who come to our Slough clinic seeking teeth straightening treatment are primarily concerned about their front teeth – those in the smile line – and it is these that Six Month Smiles act on.
By focussing on the “social six” front teeth, treatment time with Six Month Smiles braces is considerably reduced. Six months is, in fact, the average length of treatment – some mild cases can be completed in half that time, whilst the majority of patients at our Slough dental centre complete their treatment within nine months.
As well as being fast-acting, Six Month Smiles are more comfortable than standard braces because they use lower forces. What’s more, the major barrier that some adults face to orthodontic treatment – having to wear an obvious metal appliance – is not a problem with Six Month Smiles because they are made from clear and tooth-coloured components, meaning they will blend in well with the natural colour of your teeth and will not be immediately obvious in everyday life.
Whilst they are cosmetic braces, Six Month Smiles will also improve your dental health. It is easier to clean teeth when they are properly aligned, with fewer gaps in which plaque can build up. So long as you visit your Slough dentist and hygienist as regularly as advised, and practise good oral hygiene at home, straightening your teeth can cut your risk of both gum disease and dental decay – two leading causes of tooth loss.
