Six Month Smiles are a system of tooth-coloured braces (sometime called clear or invisible braces) that are designed with both patient comfort and discretion in mind. They are a very popular choice both at our Slough clinic and across the world.
When you come into our Slough dental clinic for a Six Month Smiles consultation, you will be seen by an experienced dentist, who will assess your suitability for treatment. Six Month Smiles aren’t meant for major correction of issues affecting your bite, but for mild to moderate alignment and spacing issues affecting the front six teeth, they are the perfect choice.
It is these “social six” front teeth that the majority of people who come to our Slough dental clinic are most concerned about, because these are the teeth that show when you smile. Six Month Smiles braces can be used on both the upper and lower jaw to improve your tooth alignment rapidly, discreetly, and comfortably.
Whilst traditional braces can take anything from 18 to 24 months to complete treatment, it is this very specific focus on the social six teeth that enables Six Month Smiles to act so quickly. Six months is in fact the average treatment time, with some mild cases at our Slough dental practice complete in half that time. The majority of cases are complete within nine months.
Far lower forces than with traditional orthodontic appliances are also used, which makes treatment a lot more comfortable. In terms of discretion, these braces comprise clear ceramic brackets and tooth-coloured nickel-titanium wires. This means that they blend in extremely well with the natural colour of your teeth, and will not be immediately spotted in everyday business or social situations.
Improving the alignment of your teeth won’t just make your smile look better; it will also help to improve your dental hygiene by reducing the areas dental plaque can build up.
